Review: Red Queen

Red Queen Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The people of Norte are born into one of two lots - they're either Reds, commoners with little hope of amounting to much, or Silvers, the elites with unexplainable powers who rule over their land. Mare Barrow is a Red; without a real job, she helps support her family with the only real skill she has, her quickness that makes her a master thief. Yet it appears her luck changes when she's placed in a job serving the royal family. After an unexpected event leads to a discovery that Mare has an ability that only Silver's should have, her life takes a course no one could have planned. She is both Red and Silver, and she is just the thing that could start a rebellion for the ages.

Filled with adventure, drama, betrayal, and romance, this dystopian fantasy is a solid choice for any reader.
