Review: Good as Gone

Good as Gone Good as Gone by Amy Gentry
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Julie Whittaker is kidnapped from her bedroom at knifepoint at the age of 13. The only witness is her 10-year-old sister, Jane. The eight years that follow bring a family to the brink of existence - filled with despair, grief, and maybe even hope that Julie might return. Then one evening the unthinkable happens - Julie - now 21 - appears on the family doorstep. This damaged soul has returned, yet what's next. How does a family just forget about 8 missing years? Her story doesn't exactly ring true - a child trafficking ring, Mexican drug lords? When doubts surface, Anna, Julie's mother, can't even fathom how she can be so unsure about her own child.

A quick mystery read!
